Repeat keystroke
Skip-repeat keystroke

Afterburner is the first layout to have a skip magic key, whose behavior depends on the second-to-last keystroke. In conjunction with the magic key, Afterburner achieves extremely low SFBs and SFSs, including same-key. The low same-finger usage also requires putting both R and L on thumb; this makes the most common SFB (“rl”, as in “world”) a lateral thumb movement.
